Question 1 - Past Record

For new candidates: Did you support and participate in the movement to Honour The Vote in 2016? Why?

Although I did not actively support the "Honor the vote movement" , I believe that government should support the will of it's people. And with that, I agree with the movement's demands.

Question 2 - Principles

Do you support Proportional Representation on principle? Why?

Yes. In principle, the design of PR is to ensure that all voters are heard during an election; That the results reflect the will of the voting public.

Question 3 - The Particular model

Do you support the specific Proportional Representation model that is proposed for PEI? Why?

Yes. This method will best represent both the desire for a local voter contact, in addition to ensuring the resulting votes provide fair representation in seat numbers . This will allow voters to be able to reach out to local MLAs for issues that involve their immediate community along with the having additional members of the Legislature that would be able to champion issues of their chosen party that may not be in line with their local MLA.

Question 4 - Legitimacy of the Process

Do you believe the 2019 Referendum is a more legitimate, equally legitimate, or less legitimate process than 2016's plebiscite? Why?

The 2019 Referendum will be equally legitimate to the 2016 plebiscite in regards to the question being ask of islanders. However, in the regards of the answer order - which is an unusual departure of standard polar question rules (reversing YES or NO to NO or Yes) - brings about questions of the neutrality of the referendum.

Questions 5 - Commitment to future action

If you are a supporter of Proportional Representation:  Regardless of the Referendum result, if a majority of MLAs were in-principle supporters of Proportional Representation, would you introduce and/or support such legislation to improve the island's electoral system?

The referendum will reflect the wants of the people. I believe it is with that in mind, that I would support what ever result had the majority of total votes. It is important to me that government listen to the voice of its citizens.
