Question 1 - Past Record

For new candidates: Did you support and participate in the movement to Honour The Vote in 2016? Why?

Yes. It’s about representation.

Question 2 - Principles

Do you support Proportional Representation on principle? Why?

Yes. It’s about representation.

Question 3 - The Particular model

Do you support the specific Proportional Representation model that is proposed for PEI? Why?

Yes.

Question 4 - Legitimacy of the Process

Do you believe the 2019 Referendum is a more legitimate, equally legitimate, or less legitimate process than 2016's plebiscite? Why?

Less legitimate. The first vote should have been honoured, this process seems to stack the deck for a no vote.

Questions 5 - Commitment to future action

If you are a supporter of Proportional Representation:  Regardless of the Referendum result, if a majority of MLAs were in-principle supporters of Proportional Representation, would you introduce and/or support such legislation to improve the island's electoral system?

My job as an MLA is to represent my community and their voice. If my community rejects MMP it is my job to represent that. I hope they don’t reject MMP but if they do my position is clear.

I did not

Question 2 - Principles

Do you support Proportional Representation on principle? Why?

Yes. Allow the results to represent the true vote, means every vote has weight, not just for those who win.

Question 3 - The Particular model

Do you support the specific Proportional Representation model that is proposed for PEI? Why?

I do. Because if we never tried anything new, we would never do anything different. Change can be a good thing.

Question 4 - Legitimacy of the Process

Do you believe the 2019 Referendum is a more legitimate, equally legitimate, or less legitimate process than 2016's plebiscite? Why?

More legitimate. MMP is a true course for all voters.
